Royal Voluntary Services
Answering a call for help from the Royal Voluntary Services, who like many charities have seen their income decimated during the past few months, some of our ladies dug out their knitting needles and knitted Teddies which will be attending a Teddies Picnic in October and then be sold off to raise much-needed funds for the RVS. Here's a photo of a few of them enjoying tea in the garden.
During the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020 our WI rose to the challenge of providing support to West Dorset Scrubbers who co-ordinated the efforts of volunteers across the region to provide personal protective equipment i.e. scrubs, face masks and wash/laundry bags to our health care professionals.

Dorset Reading Partners
This organisation provides reading assistance to children across Dorset. We were able to help by making 40 Story Telling Bags themed on books which volunteer reading partners are able to take into schools.
MacMillan Breast Cancer Support
We have been able to help by making heart-shaped comfort cushions, drainage bag holders and seat belt pads for those who have undergone mastectomy surgery. In October, we made a delivery of another batch which were gratefully received by the MacMillan Nurses.
