Our Afternoon of summer delights

Fizz, Tea and Cake being enjoyed by our visitors

An afternoon of Sparkling wine and cake including an "open day" of our Chideock WI, showcasing some of our clubs and activities with displays by our members and our ever-popular cake stall.

Our WI members have all been busy baking with vigour! Our many bakers provide the cakes to sell at our events. They are always a huge draw.

Our craft group run by Tish makes crafts all year round to sell at events, everything from Christmas Baubles to decorated glassware.

Our book group run by Ros (on the right) meets in our local, The George, once a month to read titles old and new in all genres.

Our gardening group gets together to visit the area's gardens and many which are open as part of the National Garden Scheme.

The walking group is organised by Mary and involves our members meeting up locally to go walking in our beautiful Dorset countryside.

Our 105th Birthday

On the 7th May 2024, we celebrated our 105th Birthday. A wonderful tea was provided and of course a birthday cake! A wonderful group of Appalachian dancers & musicians came to entertain beforehand and encouraged us to join in to make sure we had worked up enough of an appetite for cake.

Our 2023 WI Christmas Meal

Our WI Christmas Meal this year was at The George in Chideock. We all had a wonderful time with excellent food, good company and a visit from Mother Christmas! Grateful thanks to Jamie & Amy of The George for looking after us so well

Annual WI Christmas Fayre 2023

25th November 2023

A good time was once again to be had at our annual Christmas Fayre in the village. There were lots of stalls including crafts of all kinds, a bake stall, glassware, artwork, plants as well as a raffle, our local Winniford River Action Group to name just a few.

Lunch was provided by our WI members who cooked up a storm providing delicious soups, savories, and cakes to all to enjoy after their stall browsing. We were grateful to our menfolk for helping with the serving and set up.

Our Wonderful Chantry Buoys Evening
16th September 2023

A fantastic evening was had by all who attended our Chantry Buoys shanty singers evening. Good food, a drink and some brilliant singalong sea shanties brightened up a rather wet September evening as the photos show!

Before the Cream Tea 2023 event, all the WI worked hard to bake, make crafts, clean and set up the tables and crockery so that our guests could enjoy their afternoon
