Our Committee meets once a month, usually in one of our homes. In a perfect world we would have ten members in order to spread the responsibilities. Basically we are the management team for our WI, planning the programme, organising events, and ensuring that our finances are kept in order.
President: Tish Wynford-Thomas
Tish heads up our Craft Group and is never short of ideas to keep them busy. She has recently organised our support of the NHS when we made scrubs, scrub bags and mask holders. She has edited our Lockdown Newsletter and is also a dab hand at designing posters and always has something colourful to advertise our events. Her passions are sculpture, shoes, gardening, reading and travel.
Vice-President: Mary Rogers
After 4 years as President, Mary is now stepping back but will still be supporting us as Vice-President. She joined Chideock WI when she was new to the village as a means of getting to know people and was soon on the Committee and the rest is history ....
Treasurer: Janet Carey
Without Janet, where would we be? Janet manages our finances with a strong hand and because of her we are financially very sound and are able to donate to many local causes
Assistant Treasurer: Annette Jones
Annette is a returner to the Committee. She missed being part of the organising group so after a short spell as an ordinary member she has joined the Committee again - welcome back Annette, we can use your expertise and experience.
Secretary: Lee Ramsden
Lee does an amazing job of writing agendas, minutes and newsletters. She is good at research and always persuades us when she is backing a WI Resolution.
Programme Secretary: Brooke Quinteros
Brooke is new to this job but is grasping the nettle with both hands. Her 2020/21 programme has fallen at the first hurdle due to coronavirus but as soon as we are operational again we look forward to the interesting talks she has lined up for us.
Committee Member: Bev Taylor
Bev has lived in the village for many years and is always happy to make and decorate our birthday cakes, make soups and cakes and dresses up as Mother Christmas for the Christmas Fayre.
Committee Member: Lynne Hartmann
Lynne came to the area fairly recently but it is lovely to have a Committee member who lives outside the village. She has been overseeing the collection of scrubs kits, delivering them to sewers and collecting the finished products.
